Tools Used: Adobe XD, Angular (HTML, CSS, TypeScript), Photoshop
Project Type: Professional Project
Objective: To redesign the sConnect application, making fleet management digitalised, easier, more intuitive, and accessible for companies and employees alike.

1. Problem Statement

Current Situation:
Fleet management, especially for small and medium-sized companies, often involves complex processes and scattered systems. Companies struggle with decentralized lists, inefficient booking systems, and overlooked aspects like fleet utilization and cost reduction. The existing sConnect app was hard to use and didn’t provide a smooth experience for managing these tasks.

Objective:
Redesign the sConnect app to be more user-friendly and efficient. The goal was to create a seamless experience for both company administrators and employees, with easy access to fleet management, booking systems, and service management.

2. Research

User Research:
We began by understanding the challenges faced by fleet managers and employees. We conducted interviews and surveys with potential users, gathering insights on their pain points and needs.

  • Participants: [Insert Number of Participants Here]

  • Methods: Surveys, Interviews, Usability Testing

Key Findings:

  • Users found the app difficult to navigate, especially when booking vehicles.

  • There was a lack of clear communication about service management and damage reporting.

  • Employees wanted an easy way to track and manage private bookings.

3. Ideation

Brainstorming & Moodboard:
We held brainstorming sessions to reimagine the app’s user experience. The moodboard reflected our focus on simplicity, accessibility, and a professional yet friendly interface.

User Flow:
We mapped out the user journey, ensuring a smooth transition between different features of the app. This helped in identifying the critical touchpoints that needed improvement.

4. Design & Prototyping

Low-Fidelity Wireframes:
We started with basic wireframes to outline the app’s structure, focusing on simplifying the navigation and making the features easily accessible.

  • [Low-Fidelity Prototype (WIP)]

High-Fidelity Prototypes:
The final designs were crafted in Adobe XD, showcasing a clean, modern interface. We ensured that all features were intuitive and that the overall design met the needs of both fleet managers and employees.

Style Guide:
A style guide was developed to maintain consistency in the design, including typography, color schemes, and iconography.

5. Key Features

  • Fleet Management:
100% digital management of the company fleet, providing an overview of vehicle usage and status.

  • Electronic Logbook:
Simple and legally compliant logbook features for all vehicles.

  • Corporate Car Sharing:
Employees can easily book company vehicles for personal use, with clear billing through payroll.

  • Service & Damage Management:
Users can schedule service appointments and report vehicle damage directly through the app.

6. User Testing

Initial Usability Testing:
We tested the redesigned interface with users to identify any remaining issues. Feedback was gathered to make necessary adjustments.

Final Testing Results:
The final round of testing showed significant improvements in user satisfaction and ease of use. The redesigned app was well-received, with users praising its simplicity and functionality.
